Tri-C Health Careers & Technology Building

Project summary

The Cuyahoga Community College Health Careers and Technology Center was the new construction of 63,000 SF of classroom, auditorium, and training space designed to provide training and instruction to health care professionals in Northeast Ohio. The facility contains state-of-the-art audio, visual, and communication capabilities.

The project achieved LEED Silver rating. This rating was achieved through the use of energy efficiency, rain gardens, and a cistern to catch rainwater for watering planter beds surrounding the building. A green roof located over the first floor is accessed directly through the second-floor atrium and allows students to see firsthand some of the physical sciences taught in the classrooms inside the building. Extensive restoration of native grasses and plants further the LEED and Green Building initiatives sought by the owner.
